Lucinda Nicholas
I moved to Salisbury aged seven and have lived in Redlynch, in the New Forest National Park, with my husband and two beautiful daughters for the last 20 years.
I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1991 and have followed my love of painting alongside my profession ever since.
I love painting in watercolours as they can be fluid and loose as well as very precise. I also love using pen and ink along with other mediums, such as acrylic, that give me the opportunity to be brighter and bolder.
My artistic influences come from whatever I see around me. I live in a beautiful part of the world with The New Forest, Salisbury Cathedral and the surrounding landscapes being a constant source of inspiration.
I have walked on the Great Wall of China and Hadrian’s Wall in recent years for charity so my walking boots and other shoes have also been subjects for my work.
I am self taught for the most part, although I have also studied under Nikki Sheppard , Sue Taylor and Teresa Rogers, three wonderful local artists.
My work is displayed in homes in Singapore and New Zealand as well as in local collections and I have exhibited in The Hampshire Open Studios. I am happy to take commissions.
