​​Stewarding at the Exhibition

 

• All exhibitors are expected to share in stewarding

• Please bring your diaries with you when you drop off your art and see Felicity Singleton to offer your services regarding stewarding

• Non exhibiting members are also invited to steward

• Some members will be needed for the emergency/reserve list

• Training will be provided to stewards regarding the process of taking payments for sales

• Please photograph your submissions for entry into the FAC Gallery before they have been glazed and send your photo, title of work and artist name to info@fordingbridgeartclub.co.uk. Any help needed with this, do ask.

• Please ensure photos are of a good quality, straight on, no reflections and show just the artwork, no frame or background

 

Categories of Works - Artists may submit work in any of the following categories:

 

• Framed original works (for hanging)

• Mounted, unframed originals (for browser racks)

• Mounted, unframed prints (for browser racks)

• Cards: hand-painted or printed

• Sculpture

Conditions for Submission - General:

​

• Commission on all sales is 20% 

• All works are exhibited at artists’ own risk

• All work must be original (the artist’s own work and composition) and must not have been exhibited before at Fordingbridge

• All work must have been completed between July 2025 and October 2026

• Each artist can submit a maximum of 5 paintings

​

Framed Original Works

 

• ​SMALL – up to 30 cm including the frame – there will be a separate wall assigned at the exhibition for ‘small’ paintings again this year

• MEDIUM – up to 60 cm including the frame

• LARGE – up to 100 cm including the frame

 

All work must be clearly labelled at the back with the following details:

 

• Title of Work

• Medium Used

• Name of Artist

• Price - only one 'Not For Sale' picture per artist will be accepted

Selling Prices

 

• Minimum sale price for SMALL pictures exhibited: £50

• Minimum sale price for MEDIUM pictures exhibited: £75

• Minimum sale price for LARGE pictures exhibited: £100

Lucinda Nicholas will contact you to let you know when a piece of your work has been purchased and removed by the buyer to enable you to arrange a replacement to exhibit.

Presentation of Pictures 

​

• Ready for hanging with D rings approximately one third of the way down from top of frame with picture cord pulled taut

• Paintings on canvas may be submitted with or without a frame and ready to hang with D rings as per framed art above

• Unsuitable frames including clip frames will not be accepted

​

​Mounted, unframed originals (for browser racks)
 

• Previously shown works are not accepted

• Up to 5 original works unframed and mounted as appropriate

• Works must be firmly backed and, with the exception of oil paintings, neatly covered with transparent film (not cling film)

• Clearly label each item with title of work, artist name, medium and price

 

Mounted, unframed prints (for browser racks)
 

• Up to 5 prints (mounted and wrapped in transparent film - not cling film) per artist

• Works must be firmly backed and neatly covered with transparent film

• Clearly identify each item with title of work, artist name, medium and price

• Please price in round figures – multiples of 50p

 

Cards: hand-painted or printed
 

• A maximum of 50 hand-painted cards and/or printed cards will be accepted per artist

• Clearly identify each item with artist name and price

• All cards to be priced at £2.50 please

• No late additions or withdrawals will be permitted

• Unsold cards must NOT be removed at the close of the exhibition until sales totals have been agreed

 

Sculpture - Due to limited space, large or unwieldy items cannot be accepted

 

• Up to 3 pieces of work per artist

• Works must be stable when on a flat surface

• Clearly identify each item with title of work, artist name, medium and price

• Please price in round figures – multiples of 50p

• Minimum sale price of £50.00 for any size exhibited

Trophies and Certificates
 

Please ensure your trophies are polished and returned to  Avonway Annexe during a paint together session/workshop/demonstration before the Exhibition or directly to Lucinda Nicholas.

​

Awards and Certificates will be presented at the Preview Evening on Friday 23rd October by our guest judge, Kim Thompson, a wildlife artist from Woodfalls.
