Watercolour artist and teacher Darlas Hunter gave an engaging demonstration on the art of watercolour, covering everything from essential techniques to the freedom of expressive paint application.
Welcoming two new members to the Club, Darlas shared her expertise clearly and simply, demonstrating key methods and offering individual guidance as members developed their own interpretations.
“There was plenty of very useful detail about selecting the most suitable watercolour paper, brushes and paints – plus her ingenious use of a large ‘goldfish bowl’ for washing brushes!” said Anthony Mollison.
Members of all experience levels, from complete beginners to seasoned watercolourists, discovered fresh approaches and new possibilities with the medium.
The session also included practical advice on colour mixing and the effective use of colour, with Naples Yellow proving a particular favourite.
